The uk National Midwifery Council (NMC) are to raise the annual registration fee from £76 to £100. This rise will take effect from Friday 1 February 2013.

In a statement on their website they have cited the reason for the increase as being the need to invest in increasing their capacity to cope with practicing referrals. They have further commented on the fact that they are committed to reviewing the fee annually.
The NMC have provided a link to a Fees FAQ section for Nurses and Midwives to learn more about the changes to the Fee structure. In Ireland, An Bord Altranais, the Irish Nursing Board’s current registration fee for domestic nurses currently stands at €145 whereas overseas nurses registration fee is €200.
