Kate Cowhig International Healthcare Recruitment in affiliation with our client, a state of the art academic medical centre. We are currently looking to recruit a Director of Nursing and Midwifery for their newly commissioned Women’s and Children’s Hospital.



Sidra Medical and Research Center is a state of the art academic medical center that functions to the highest level of international standards.  Its clinical focus is on the specialty care of women and children

The family centered-friendly 399-bed state of the art facility serves Qatari, non-Qatari and international women and children and their families. The hospital’s team of experienced staff operate within a blended model of care supported by the world class technology.



The Director of Nursing and Midwifery will provide strong leadership and expert knowledge of clinical governance, quality and safety initiatives, including patient safety, patient experience and care quality improvement across Family Centered Services.

The candidate will work closely with the Family Centered Services Executive Team, s/he will develop appropriate systems, processes and relationships with the wider organization to ensure high quality, safe and effective services are implemented, monitored, evaluated and operationally effective.

The Director of Nursing and Midwifery will be responsible and accountable for all Nursing and Midwifery professional standards and effectiveness of working across all CMGs incorporating the hospitals vision and strategic plan.



The position will be based in Doha Qatar. Doha is the capital city and most populous city of the State of Qatar. Doha has a population of 1,351,000.



  • Salary from 30,590 - 42,000 per month. Basic Salary (QAR)
  • Minimum of 30 working days annual leave + public holidays
  • Furnished accommodation fully arranged by the hospital
  • Free medical care and emergency dental
  • Free business class round trip to point of origin per year
  • Opportunity to have a family contract with generous schooling allowances in local, international run school
  • Transport allowance, mobile allowance and relocation covered by the hospital



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Midwifery or Health related field or Master’s in Business Administration
  • 10+ years of progressive management experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international accreditation standards and to lead on accreditation readiness (Magnet/ANCC)
  • Eligible to register as a nurse with the QCHP (Qatari Nursing Board)
  • Professional membership of AONE or ENDA
